Pet dog injured by farm burglars

A dog has been seriously injured with a metal rake by burglars who stole equipment worth thousands of pounds from a farm in Surrey.

Three men cut through a wire fence at a farm in Bonsor Drive, Tadworth in the early hours of Monday.

The dog Jade suffered injures to her back and legs and a tooth was knocked out when she was hit with the rake.

Electrical goods, tools and machinery were stolen from a storage unit. The men also tried to steal a quad bike.

Det Con David Sprague, of Surrey Police, described it as a "horrible crime".

He said: "I am appalled by the level of violence shown towards this animal.

"It has been a very distressing time for the owner of the farm, not only having her property broken into but also having to go through the agony of seeing her dog injured."

The suspects are described as white men, aged between 18 and 25, of slim build, wearing baseball caps and jogging bottoms.

They drove off in a Mitsubishi Shogun in the direction of Kingswood.
