Town marks opening of new centre

The Atrium
The Atrium has a cinema, shops, restaurants and apartments

The opening of a new shopping and leisure centre in Surrey has been marked with a military march.

The Royal Logistic Corps, which has the Freedom of the Borough of Surrey Heath, paraded through Camberley on the first full day of opening for The Atrium.

It offers a range of new shops, leisure facilities and apartments, and is sited west of The Main Shopping Centre.

The Atrium derives its name from the light, glass focal space at the centre of the development

The mayor of Surrey Heath, Alan Whittart, said Saturday's event formed a link between the town's historic military connections and its future with the opening of the new centre.
