Man held over hit-and-run death

A man charged with murder over the death of a 21-year-old pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash has been remanded.

William Buckingham, from Morden, south London, was hit by a car on the A24 in Ewell, Surrey, on 27 September.

Bus driver Daniel Press, 23, from Epsom, was remanded by South East Surrey magistrates until 14 January.

Alyssa Press, 28, and Kerry Barnett, 23, also from Epsom, who are accused of perverting the course of justice, were released on bail.

The case was adjourned until a hearing at the Old Bailey on 14 January.
