Three men have been bailed after they were arrested on suspicion of murder, following a hit-and-run incident in Surrey which killed a 21-year-old man.

William Buckingham, of Morden, died in hospital after he was struck by a car on the A24 London Road in Ewell in the early hours of Saturday.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Sunday found that his death was caused by serious head injuries.

Three Epsom men, two aged 23 and one aged 20, were released on police bail.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said: "Officers are still appealing for anyone who can help build a better picture of the events that night.

"Did you see William walking with friends along the London Road early on Saturday morning?

"Did you see or hear a car driving fast or anything else suspicious in the area?"

He asked anyone with information to contact Surrey Police.
