Revamp work on roundabout starts

A major clean-up operation has been started at a roundabout in Surrey.

Over the next eight to 10 weeks graffiti will be removed, tunnels repainted and broken lights replaced at Wapses Lodge junction near Caterham.

The work is part of a community safety project involving Tandridge District Council, Surrey County Council, Surrey Police and Surrey Probation Service.

The inside of the roundabout on the A22 will be closed to the public each Saturday during the clean-up.

Tandridge District councillor Glynis Whittle said: "Tandridge has invested a lot of time and effort in reducing the level of graffiti across the district and this project is another excellent step in the right direction."
