Woman in fatal house fire named

Kirsty Wilson
Police said they were confident the woman was Kirsty Wilson

A woman found dead at the scene of a house fire is thought to be 34-year-old Kirsty Wilson, Surrey Police have said.

Officers said they were confident about the woman's identity, although she is yet to be formally named.

A 40-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder was still being questioned on Thursday, police said.

A spokesman said officers from the major crime investigation team were following up "many lines of inquiry" after the fire in Woking on Wednesday.

Emergency teams were called to the blaze in Greenmeads just after midnight.

Two children and a man were taken to St Peters Hospital, Chertsey, where they were treated for smoke inhalation and discharged.

A post-mortem examination was being carried out to ascertain the cause of death.
