Man admits killing woman at flat

A man has admitted battering a woman to death at her flat in Surrey.

David Angel, 44, of Englefield Green, near Egham, pleaded guilty to the murder of Gabrielle King at the Old Bailey on Thursday.

The body of 36-year-old Ms King was discovered at her home in Heronfield, Englefield Green, on 27 December 2007.

A post-mortem examination carried out at the Royal Surrey County Hospital revealed that she died from "blunt force injuries to the head".

Angel was arrested the same night as her body was discovered, questioned over the course of three days and then charged.

He is due to sentenced at the Old Bailey on Friday.
