Bobbies on bikes deter trouble

Police in west Surrey have been using pedal power in a bid to crack down on anti-social behaviour in Ash Vale.

Neighbourhood Specialist Officer Pc Mike Patey had the idea of using the bikes after spotting them lying unused at Guildford police station.

The patrols have been taking place over the last few weeks and were set up in response to a number of problems with a group of young people at the weekends.

The cycles are equipped with sirens and blue lights.
