Four homes raided by drugs police

Police arrested three people and seized suspected drugs in raids on four separate homes in the same Surrey road.

About 35 officers took part in the planned operation on Bristol Close in Staines.

Two men, aged 24 and 28, were arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply and later released on bail.

A 20-year-old woman was also arrested at one of the addresses on suspicion of theft. She was later bailed.

Officers distributed leaflets to homes in the area to offer reassurance and advice to residents and to encourage them to report any suspicious activity in the future.

Det Insp Derrick Laing, who led the operation, said: "We acted on intelligence from local residents and information we had received to take proactive steps to disrupt the use of and sale of drugs in the community.

"I hope this kind of action demonstrates to the public the immense value of reporting suspicious activity and the benefits to the community when we are able to take positive action."
