County appeal for abuse stories

Domestic abuse
Residents can contact researchers online or by phone

Residents in Surrey are being asked to share their experiences of domestic abuse as part of a European research project.

Surrey County Council is working with two other regions - Uppsala in Sweden and Valle d'Aosta in Italy - on the Making the Invisible Visible programme.

It aims to assess the level of domestic abuse in various social groups and in different parts of the county.

The study is sponsored by the European Union Daphne II programme.

It aims to support organisations that help prevent or tackle violence against children, young people and women, and to protect victims and at-risk groups.

The council has appealed for people living in Surrey to contact the researchers online or by telephone to share their experiences of domestic abuse.
