A gunman has held up a bank in Surrey, escaping with money after threatening staff and customers.

The man entered the Lloyds TSB bank at Station Road, Oxted, and shouted at the customers to "get down on the floor" at about 1500 BST on Wednesday.

He then pointed a small gun at cashiers and demanded money, before leaving with a small sum and fleeing towards the Masters Close area.

Police believe the man escaped with a second man who waited outside the bank.

The first suspect was described as 5ft 7in (1.7m) tall and of medium build. He wore dark trousers, a dark hooded top, white gloves, and was carrying a shoulder bag.

The men may have had a vehicle parked nearby, and police have appealed for anyone who recognises the suspect or has any information to contact them.
