Family tribute to fire death man

Charlie Davies
Mr Davies was described as having a caring nature

A man who died in hospital after being set alight in an attack in Surrey has been described as "fun-loving".

Charles Davies, 23, died on Thursday night, 12 days after he suffered serious burns in the attack in Templedene Avenue, Staines.

In a statement, his family said there was a "big empty space" in their lives.

A 24-year-old student has appeared in court charged with attempted murder. Surrey Police are expected to apply for the indictment to be changed to murder.

'Outgoing personality'

His family added: "Charlie was a joy to be around and was loved by all who knew him. He had a fun-loving and outgoing personality, enjoyed socialising and meeting new people.

"He had a caring nature and always had time for anyone. He lived life to the full and would always try to make everyone laugh.

"We were blessed to have had Charlie in our lives and now there is a big empty space."

Nadim Kurrimbukus, from Hounslow, west London, has been remanded in custody to appear at Kingston Crown Court on 7 July.
