Truck route sought after robbery

Police in Surrey are trying to trace the movements of a large silver-covered truck used in a theft in Godalming.

It pulled up outside Villa and Hut, a converted barn which forms part of a small business unit located in Eashing Lane, on Wednesday afternoon.

A man then climbed through a fence into the car park, and picked up a handmade octagonal teak folding table before returning to the truck and driving off.

Anyone who then saw the truck in the Aarons Hill area should call officers.

Police said the vehicle was located on the A3 slip road at Eashing a short time after the theft, just before 1500 BST.

Officers searched the vehicle and found two men inside but no sign of the table.

Investigating officer Det Con Kevin Ford appealed to residents in the area to come forward with any information.

He said: "Was this item of furniture, which has been described as handcrafted, delivered to an address near you? Has it been thrown away or hidden somewhere to collect later?"
