A major road through Surrey is expected to remain closed until at least Sunday for repairs to extensive damage caused by flooding from a burst water main.
Six properties were flooded along with garages, sheds and gardens when the main burst on the A22 Eastbourne Road at Blindley Heath on Thursday.
Sutton and East Surrey Water said 500 homes cut off in the Lingfield area had supplies restored by the afternoon.
Residents from two properties were given temporary accommodation.
The company said it had sent loss adjusters to the scene and repaired damage to the 24in main which burst outside St John's Church.
But the A22 was badly damaged and will take longer to repair.
Both carriageways remain closed, with traffic diverted from the A264 at Felbridge, over the M23 to Horley, up to the A25 at Redhill and down the A22 from Godstone.
