Talks begin on conservation plan

Talks have opened on a plan proposed by residents to make their town a conservation area.

A group in Chilworth, Surrey, have suggested the change, which includes tighter controls on development, to Guildford Borough Council.

The plan would protect Chilworth Gunpowder Mills, parts of Chilworth Village and as trees in the area.

The council has asked people in Chilworth to tell them what they think about the idea before 30 May.
