German man killed in road crash

A 54-year-old man was killed in a crash involving a van and a taxi in Surrey.

Surrey Police said the man, who was from Germany, died from his injuries following the collision in the Smarts Heath area on Tuesday.

A Ford van and Fiat taxi crashed on the junction of Smarts Heath Lane, Burdenshott Road and Prey Heath Road at about 1300 BST.

Officers investigating the incident have asked anyone with information to contact them.
