Motorists killed as car hits tree

A 50-year-old man has been killed in an accident in Surrey in which his car was involved in a collision with another vehicle and then hit a tree.

The driver, who lived locally, died following the crash at Blackbrook Road, in the Holmwood area of Dorking.

His Alfa Romeo was in a collision with a Volvo just south of the junction with Red Lane at 2203 BST on Tuesday. The Volvo driver was not injured.

Police said both vehicles were heading south towards Henfold Lane.

Collision investigation officers are appealing for witnesses who saw the accident or the vehicles prior to the collision to come forward.
