Vehicle vandalism rises sharply
Warlingham Green
Warlingham's neighbourhood police have given priority to vehicle crime
More than 30 incidents of vandalism to parked vehicles in a Surrey village have been reported in a month, with a sharp increase since Halloween.

Police in Warlingham said they received isolated reports of criminal damage at the beginning of October in the Church Road, Ward Lane and Crewes Lane area.

But since the increase, patrols in the area had been stepped up.

"This is a priority for us as criminal damage to vehicles is a big concern for residents," said Pc Jo Essen.

Vehicle vandalism was raised at a recent neighbourhood panel meeting with residents, where police promised to take robust action against the culprits.

But Pc Essen appealed for information.

"We have listened carefully to what residents had to say at the panel meeting and we are working hard to solve the issues they raised," she said.

"However, if you know who is responsible for this recent spate of criminal damage please let me know."
