Sculpture to show people the way
Artist's impression of the sculpture
The sculpture will be a focal point for Camberley's regeneration
The design has been chosen for a piece of public art to stand alongside a town's new shopping and leisure centre.

Rick Kirby's three stainless steel figures on a thin obelisk will stand on a site in Park Street, Camberley.

The figures, with their arms outstretched and palms open, will guide pedestrians along Park Street and Obelisk Way.

The Atrium development of 17 shops, 217 homes, a cinema, bowling alley, gym and restaurants is under construction.

The theme of the sculpture draws on the history of Camberley's Obelisk tower, an imposing brick structure built in the 18th Century which at one time stood at a height of 100ft (30.5m).

Its £50,000 cost is being funded by The Atrium's developer, Crest Nicholson.

Mr Kirby said he hoped his work would become a "landmark feature for the town".
