Jethro Field was found dead when police were called to a house
A 52-year-old teaching assistant has appeared in court charged with the murder of his six-year-old son.

Jethro Field was found dead at a house in George Road, Farncombe near Godalming, Surrey, on Wednesday.

Dafydd Field, of the same address, was remanded in custody by magistrates in Dorking on Saturday, to appear before the Old Bailey on 7 July.

He was arrested at a police station in Tywyn, Gwynedd in Wales, two hours after his son's body was discovered.

A post-mortem examination on Jethro's body has been completed, but Surrey Police said the results could not be released because they were central to the investigation.
