Thousands of passengers have been delayed at Gatwick Airport because an electrical failure meant they could not check luggage in.
Police stopped travellers going into the South Terminal on Sunday morning after one of the main baggage belts broke down because of the dip in power.
BAA said the problem had been fixed and staff were now clearing the backlog.
Some flights are experiencing delays of up to 50 minutes and people are being urged to check before travelling.
Up to 32,000 passengers were expected to arrive and depart from Gatwick Airport's North and South Terminals on Sunday.
Operating as normal
A BAA spokeswoman said Easyjet had cancelled seven flights due to the earlier problem and was offering passengers overnight accommodation and re-booking them onto other flights.
She added that the airport was otherwise operating as normal.
"There will be delays for people as we try to check the people in who have been waiting," the spokeswoman said.
One traveller said: "They're trying to get people from earlier flights to the front of the queue but people are just trying to get to the front."
The South Terminal acts as a base for airlines including Easyjet, Continental and Virgin.
