Suffolk seaside boatyard engulfed by fire

Boatyard owner Peter Wilson said he had lost 30 years of his life in the fire

A Suffolk boatyard has been destroyed by a fire.

Aldeburgh Boatyard Company in Fort Green, Aldeburgh, is situated in the grounds of the town's yacht club.

Fire crews were called to the scene at 0811 BST and were expected to remain damping down all day. The cause of the fire is not known.

Residents living near the site were advised to keep windows and doors closed because of a plume of smoke from the boatyard.
