Man arrested over fatal car crash

A man is being held on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and drink-driving after a man died in a crash in Suffolk.

Suffolk Police were alerted to the crash on the A1094 Aldeburgh road at Friston in the early hours.

Luke Barham, 25, of Saxmundham, was taken to Ipswich Hospital with life-threatening injuries and died soon afterwards.

Police said they were questioning a 24-year-old man from the Leiston area.

A blue Alfa Romeo left the road and collided with a telegraph pole before going into a ditch.

Police were called at 0030 GMT.
