Youth killed on stolen motorbike

A 17-year-old has died in Buckinghamshire after the motorbike he was riding crashed in front of police.

Two officers were in a patrol car in the Coffee Hall area of Milton Keynes on Friday night when they saw a motorbike on a Redway path.

They tried to find it and were on the Elfield Park roundabout when the stolen bike came towards them on the Redway and there was a collision.

The rider was declared dead at the scene.

The black Yamaha motorbike had been reported stolen on Thursday.

Due to officers being near the crash when it happened the Independent Complaints Commission (IPCC) has been informed.

Sgt Julie Daglish, who is leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts and condolences are with the family.

"I would like to hear from anyone that may have seen a motorbike in the Coffee Hall, Bleak Hall and H8 area prior to the collision or who witnessed the collision itself."
