One man has been held in custody following the crash

Train services between Ipswich and Felixstowe have been suspended after a car crashed through a boundary fence onto the line.

The car hit a wagon on a freight train at 1236 GMT and one set of its wheels was knocked off the line at Derby Road in Ipswich. Nobody was injured.

Buses have replaced National Express East Anglia trains and the line may be closed for the rest of the day.

The male driver of a car has been arrested by police and is in custody.

The 36-year-old from Ipswich is being held on suspicion of theft of a vehicle, driving while unfit due to drink or drugs and leaving the scene of an accident.
