David Lucas stood as a BNP candidate in the European elections

A man from Suffolk has appeared in court charged with a number of offences relating to firearms and explosives.

David Lucas, 49, of South Road, Lakenheath, was held after raids in Lakenheath and Hockwold in April.

The charges against him include possessing an explosive substance for unlawful purposes, possessing a gun and ammunition.

Bury St Edmunds magistrates released him on conditional bail to appear before Ipswich Crown Court in January.
