Prisoner on the run is recaptured

An inmate who absconded from an open prison in Suffolk has been recaptured by Leicestershire police.

Joseph Donoghue, 26, absconded from Hollesley Bay open prison on the evening of 4 July and was last seen making off on foot.

A Suffolk Police spokeswoman said he was detained by Leicestershire Police on 2 August and has now been returned to the prison system.

Donoghue was serving a four-year sentence for burglary.
