Funeral held for river death boy

The funeral is taking place of a six-year-old boy who died after falling into a river on a Beaver Scout trip.

Alan Lock had been on an organised trip with the 1st Acton and Waldingfield Beavers when he fell into the River Stour in Sudbury, Suffolk, on 16 June.

Results of post-mortem tests were inconclusive and more have been carried out to find the cause of death.

The funeral is taking place at All Saints Church, Acton, and conducted by the Reverend Jamie Allen.

Alan, from Sudbury, was part of a group of Beavers, aged between six and eight, who were taking part in a supervised walk along the riverbank.

An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned.
