Young people face military camp

Sixty young people in Suffolk are going on a military style holiday next month.

They are taking part in Operation Camouflage, an activity camp for eight to 16-year-olds who live or go to school in the Suffolk Coastal area.

"Suffolk Coastal is linking with Rock Barracks on the old RAF Woodbridge site for a holiday camp with a difference," said Sherrie Green, from the council.

"Soldiers from the 23rd Engineer Regiment (Air Assault) will assist throughout the week," she said.

The aim is to provide the young people with positive role models and help them to take part in activities, many of which involve real army training facilities such as the assault course.
