Appeal after woman found injured

A 20-year-old woman has been been injured in an apparent assault in the early hours of the morning.

The woman was found by a member of the public in Friar Street, Ipswich, Suffolk, at about 0130 BST.

A police spokeswoman said: "She had suffered minor injuries and it is thought she may have been assaulted.

"Enquiries are being made to establish what has happened and a cordon has been put up around an area on Civic Drive in relation to the incident."

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen a female, on her own or in the company of a man, in Civic Drive or Friar Street between 2330 BST on Saturday and 0130 BST, to contact Suffolk Police.
