Teenage boy pulled from pond dies

A 15-year-old boy has died after being pulled from a large pond near a housing estate in Ipswich.

Ashley Dorling, of Ipswich, was pulled from the pond in Jovian Way after police were called by a member of the public who had heard cries for help.

Police and fire and ambulance crews, attended the incident, on Saturday evening, and a search was carried out.

The teenager was pulled from the water and taken to Ipswich Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said the death was being treated as unexplained but was not thought to be suspicious.
