Recycled bottles used at reserve

Thousands of plastic bottles have been turned into a dipping platform and two boardwalks at a Suffolk nature reserve.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust hopes the new additions to its visitor centre at Carlton Marshes near Lowestoft will help people learn more about the area.

The 11,500 plastic bottles came from Filcris, a local business, and the work was funded by a £16,025 grant from a waste recycling group.

Other additions to Carlton and Oulton marshes include a new baling machine.

The machine will be used to collect hay from the fen meadows.

The dipping platform will enable visitors to examine the ecology of Carlton's important freshwater dykes.
