Views sought over preserving town

Residents and anyone with an interest in a Suffolk market town famous for its horse racing are being urged to comment on how to keep its character.

Forest Heath District Council has drafted a plan showing ways of drawing attention to Newmarket and its horse training stables and yards.

The plan also highlights the town's wide High Street, which has been a centre for trading for centuries.

The appraisal covers 28 streets and roads in the town.

Each section gives a comprehensive overview of the area's character, what architecture or historic features make it special and any proposed changes.
