Woman detained after fire in flat

A woman has been detained under the provisions of the Mental Health Act after a fire in a Suffolk flat forced the evacuation of a number of homes.

The 37-year-old was arrested following the fire in Shadingfield Close in Lowestoft early on Saturday.

Suffolk Police said the blaze caused "substantial damage" to the flat. Other residents in the block were moved out but no one was injured.

Suffolk Fire Service said three fire crews brought the blaze under control.
