Views on Town Hall plans sought

Waveny District Council's Town Hall
Waveney council is looking at moving from the Town Hall

People living in Waveney are being asked their views on how they would like to see the Town Hall site in Lowestoft, Suffolk, redeveloped.

Waveney District Council is asking for views on redevelopment proposals for the Town Hall site in Lowestoft.

A number of public exhibitions are taking place in coming weeks where ideas will be on display.

If the council moves from the Town Hall, the site could be used for offices or housing.

The Town Hall site is one of the preferred sites for future development contained in Waveney's Local Development Framework (LDF) - a document that sets out the council's vision for the area.

Details of all preferred sites for future development have been published and feedback is being sought in a consultation.

The proposals for the Town Hall site are available for public viewing at:

  • The Council Chamber at the Town Hall, High Street, Lowestoft, on Monday 15 December from 1900 to 2030 GMT
  • Town Hall Reception, High Street, Lowestoft, on Tuesday 16 December until Friday 19 December, from 0900 to 1630 GMT
  • Marina Customer Service Centre, Marina, Lowestoft on Monday 22 December until Friday 2 January from 0900 to 1630 GMT on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and from 0930 to 1800 GMT on Thursday.

The closing date for comments is Monday 12 January 2009.

Documents will be made available on the council's website, from 15 December and a feedback form for the Town Hall Site Consultation can also be found on the council website.
