A postman has been released on bail after being arrested in connection with the disappearance of a "significant" number of letters in Suffolk.
Royal Mail said an investigation was launched after post intended for homes in Ipswich was not delivered.
A spokesman for the company confirmed a postman had been arrested. He said the investigation centred around allegations of theft and delay of mail.
Police said the man had been released on bail pending further enquiries.
The Royal Mail spokesman said: "Royal Mail is working closely with the police in a continuing investigation over allegations of theft and delay of mail in Ipswich following the recovery of a significant number of items at an address in the town."
