Newsagent staff threatened by gun

An armed robber wearing a black crash helmet escaped with a quantity of cash after threatening staff with a handgun at a newsagents in Suffolk.

The attack happened on Sunday morning at McColls store at Ellenbrook Green in Ipswich. The robber escaped towards Belmont Road, a police spokesman said.

The raider is described as about 5ft 8ins tall, medium build, 18 to 19 years old and wearing dark clothing.

The crash helmet had a blue pattern above the visor.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact them.
