Customs seize illegal knife haul

Knives seized
The knives were seized at the Port of Felixstowe

A haul of illegal knives has been made by customs officers at a Suffolk port.

A container arriving into Felixstowe from the US on Monday was found to contain 384 weapons.

The blades were up to 8in (20cm) long, and thought to be Chinese in origin. They were seized by UK Border Agency officials who are now investigating.

Jim Jarvie, of the agency, said stopping illegal weapons entering the UK "played a vital role in protecting our communities".
