Divers search sea for 'lost' bomb

The bomb found on the coast in Felixstowe
The device is thought to be German and weighs about 1,000lb

Royal Navy divers have resumed their search for a missing World War II bomb off the Suffolk coast.

The 1,000lb bomb (500kg), thought to be German and dropped in 1942, was washed ashore at Felixstowe, leading to the evacuation of hundreds of homes.

Bomb disposal experts attached the device to a buoy with the intention of towing it out to sea and destroying it.

High tides dislodged the bomb, anchored on the seabed and marked with a buoy, and divers are trying to relocate it.
