A man brandishing a knife has attempted a robbery at a newsagent in Suffolk.

Wearing a balaclava and a blue backpack, the man entered the shop in Norwich Road, Ipswich, and demanded cash from staff.

The staff refused and the man, described by police as aged about 30, 6ft 3in (183cm) with thinning mousey brown hair, fled on foot empty handed.

Suffolk police urged anyone who witnessed the robbery attempt to contact them.
