Woman 'trapped' under bus injured
First Eastern Counties bus
The woman is being treated for her injuries at Ipswich Hospital
A woman has been injured after becoming trapped under a bus in Ipswich.

Police said the woman is thought to have suffered serious injuries in the incident which happened on Tacket Street in the town centre.

The woman has been taken by ambulance to the Ipswich Hospital, where she will be treated for her injuries.

First Eastern Counties said one of its vehicles was involved in the incident. The company said it was helping police officers with their inquiries.

The incident in Ipswich follows an incident in which a woman became trapped under a First Eastern Counties bus on Prince of Wales Road in Norwich on 9 February.

The spokesman said: "All our drivers are fully trained and fit to be on the road, so as far as I am aware there is no question of the driver being at fault."

Ipswich Buses said many services in the town have been affected by the road closure, but that some services were running on diverted routes, although some delays were expected.
