Abbots Hall, Stowmarket
Grade II listed Abbotts Hall was built in 1706
The voice of Suffolk locals is to be preserved for future generations through digitised recordings.

"Suffolk Voices Restored" will be launched at the Grade II listed Abbot's Hall in Stowmarket on Tuesday.

Local historian David Butcher will talk about the old Lowestoft herring fisheries with an oral history of tapes made between 1976 and 1983.

The Suffolk County Council project will also include images from Suffolk Record Office's photographic collections.

Lisa Chambers, of Suffolk County Council, will welcome invited guests to the early 18th Century hall in the grounds of the Museum of East Anglian Life.

The launch will run from 1400 until 1600 GMT with talks between 1415 and 1515 GMT.

The project is funded by the Heritage Lottery.
