Police to discuss business crime
The impact of business crime on firms in Suffolk is to be discussed by police at a special forum next month.

The first forum of its kind in Suffolk will focus on how crime can affect local businesses.

A spokesman said local business owners would be able to discuss issues with Chief Constable Simon Ash and Gulshan Kayembe, Police Authority chair.

A wide range of businesses have been invited to attend the forum at Suffolk Police headquarters on 16 October.

'Working together'

A spokesman said: "Suffolk Constabulary recognise that local businesses are at the heart of the local community by providing jobs and boosting the local economy.

"They also have an important role as the 'eyes and ears' of the local community by reporting crime and working together with the police to tackle local issues."

Chief Constable Ash said: "Offences committed against businesses will not be tolerated in Suffolk.

"We will continue to work closely with the local business community to combat this type of crime and to play an active part in supporting the development of our local economy."

Mrs Kayembe said, "We also want to get a clearer picture of how Suffolk businesses feel about business crime and how it affects their livelihood."
