Teacher arrested over rape claim

A teacher has been suspended from a Suffolk school after he was arrested over allegations he raped a pupil.

The man, 23, who teaches at a school in Woodbridge, was arrested after the claim was made by a girl, aged 16.

Suffolk Police said the allegation relates to an incident which occurred in July in Ufford. The suspect has been bailed by police until 3 December.

Suffolk County Council said the teacher has been suspended pending the outcome of a police inquiry.
