The Rt Revd Nigel Stock will be enthroned as bishop in November
The 10th Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich in Suffolk will be enthroned at the Cathedral on St Edmund's Day, 20 November.

The Rt Revd Nigel Stock, 57, takes over from the Rt Revd Richard Lewis.

Born and raised in Newcastle, Bishop Nigel has had a varied church career spanning 22 years in parish ministry, including five in Papua New Guinea.

"I hope this (the enthronement) can be an occasion to celebrate the Diocese," he said.

The enthronement, the first in Suffolk for 11 years, is the event at which the bishop formerly takes his seat in his cathederal church.

The Dean of St Edmundsbury Cathedral, the Very Revd Neil Collings who will conduct the service, said: "This is the moment when we welcome our new bishop and friend. It will be a day of great joy."
