New university officially opened

The first university for Suffolk is officially opened on Wednesday.

Students will begin enrolling at the University Campus Suffolk (UCS) in September which will have 300 staff.

The UCS is a link-up between the universities of East Anglia and Essex and local colleges, such as Suffolk College, in Ipswich.

The first landmark building on the Ipswich waterfront is already under construction and is due to open to students and public in September 2008.
