The Right Reverend Richard Lewis
Bishop Richard Lewis is to retire in June this year
Talks are taking place to agree two names for submission to the Prime Minister in the process to decide the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich.

The position is currently held by the Rt Rev Richard Lewis who is to retire in June after 10 years in the job.

The Crown Nominations Commission (CNC), made up of 16 local and national representatives and two Archbishops, met in January to begin talks.

The CNC is meeting on Monday and Tuesday to agree the two names.

The name of the new bishop will be announced probably in the early summer.
