Dr Odenefe John Isiavwe faces a string of complaints
|
A doctor accused of making unwanted advances towards a patient, cannot even "remember her", the General Medical Council (GMC) has heard.
Dr Odenefe John Isiavwe dismissed allegations he had visited the woman at her home, where she said he tried to kiss her and touched her breast.
Dr Isiavwe said the Suffolk woman, known as Patient B, must be mistaken.
The Nigerian denied his behaviour was inappropriate and an abuse of his professional position.
The doctor told a Fitness to Practice panel he could not even remember who she was.
He denied massaging Patient B's neck, claiming he did not know how to and had never even massaged his wife.

As a matter of fact I cannot even put her face to this consultation

Dr Isiavwe admitted he was consulted by Patient B on 24 September, 2002 while he was working as a GP registrar at Field Lane Surgery, Kessingland, Suffolk.
But he denied giving her his mobile number and asking her out for a drink, an offer the patient said she initially accepted.
Dr Isiavwe dismissed the patient's claims that he grabbed her breast, saying: "I do not recall ever contacting her. As a matter of fact I cannot even put her face to this consultation."
He denied pursuing her, saying he had no reason to and rejected the allegation he had asked her for a drink because he "did not drink or go out to pubs and drink".
Denies kiss
"She must be mistaken. I sit here and say I do not remember ever going to Patient B's home."
Dr Isaivwe, who was granted medical registration in August 2001 after coming to the UK from Nigeria, also denied trying to kiss the woman.
He said: "I never propositioned her or asked to visit her at home or went to her home. I did not kiss her or try to kiss her and I did not massage her or attempt to massage her."
The complaints were made against Dr Isiavwe between 2001 and 2004.
Dr Isiavwe has since moved to the Orthopaedic Department at James Paget Hospital, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth.
The hearing in central London continues.
