Vigil in memory of Libya bombing
F-16 fighter
Aircraft flew from RAF Lakenheath 20 years ago to bomb Libya
Peace campaigners from Norfolk and Suffolk have held an all-night vigil at a US airbase used by aircraft that bombed Libya 20 years ago.

RAF Lakenheath near Brandon was home to 18 North American aircraft that took part in the raid in April 1986.

Among the 101 civilians killed in raids on Tripoli and Benghazi was a student from the University of East Anglia.

Two aircrew members also died. The US claimed at the time it was attacking terrorist-related targets.
