Plans to close a fire service HQ and transfer staff to the county council's main building are to be discussed.
About 75 staff work at Suffolk's fire service HQ in Colchester Road, Ipswich.
It is proposed to transfer most of them to Endeavour House where other county council operations are based and save up to £100,000 a year.
The fire station and control room, which also operate from Colchester Road, would be unaffected. Councillors will discuss the move this week.
Suffolk's public protection scrutiny committee are trying to ensure the move will not impact on the level of effectiveness of the fire service.
